When choosing a door for your prefabricated steel buildings, there are two things you need to keep in mind: the building’s planned use and your budget. In addition to these, select a door that is of good quality and it should enhance the appearance of your steel building.
Manufacturers are aware that builders of prefabricated steel buildings want choices and options that is why doors for metal structures come in a variety of different sizes, colors, and surface designs.
Steel Slab Doors
These are the typical types of doors used in many houses and apartments. They are hinged on one side so that they can swing open when a handle or knob placed on the other side is pushed.
French Doors
French doors are made by incorporating glass windows or “lights” into steel frames. French doors can come with a single solid panel of glass, or they may be constructed with multiple glass panels, which are clear or opaque. French doors offer the benefit of adding a touch of class and quality to any prefabricated steel building.
Dutch Doors
Also known as stable doors, half doors, and divided doors, Dutch doors are doors that are horizontally divided into two panels. These doors are mostly used in stables for easy feeding of horses without completely setting them free.
Saloon Doors
These doors come in pairs of lightweight swing doors with special hinges that allow them to be opened either outwards or inwards with an attached spring to keep them closed. They come in various heights.
Folding Doors
These types of doors are composed of multiple panels that can be folded to open. The beauty of folding doors is that they require less space than swinging doors.
Sliding Doors
Perfect for steel farm buildings and steel aircraft hangars, sliding doors consist of one or more steel panels on a track that runs outboard of the building line. For large panels, the track system needs to extend past the side of the prefabricated steel buildings.
